Is GraceDNS really free?
Yes, for individuals: free forever, no card and no trial clock. For businesses, your first 30 employees are free, then €1 per employee per month. Schools pay half. See pricing.
What exactly does GraceDNS block?
Malware, phishing and botnet sites from the start. Adult content, gambling, social media, games, ads and trackers are switches you turn on, and SafeSearch can be enforced on Google and YouTube.
Will it slow my internet down?
No. Frequent answers come straight from memory, and GraceDNS does its checking as the answer leaves, so blocking adds no noticeable delay to a lookup.
Do you log the sites I visit?
Not by default. With logging off, GraceDNS does not store which sites you look up. Business and school plans can turn on logging per configuration, stored in Germany by default.
Do I need an app?
No. You change one DNS setting on your device or router; on iPhone, iPad and Mac a small configuration profile does it. On a phone or laptop, GraceDNS keeps working on mobile data and hotel Wi-Fi.
Can my kids switch it off?
A DNS setting can be changed, so lock it with your device’s parental controls (for example Family Link on Android) or set GraceDNS on your router. It is strong everyday protection, not a guarantee against a VPN. What DNS filtering cannot do.
What if GraceDNS blocks a site I need?
Add it to your allowlist. Your allowlist always wins, and changes reach the resolvers within about a minute.
How do I change settings without an account?
Setup gives you an edit token exactly once: keep it in your password manager. Or sign in with a passkey and keep your configurations in an account. How accounts work.
